About Us

The Instituto de Investigaciones Clínicas Mar del Plata is made up of clinical researchers and a team of people with the knowledge and tools to understand, discover, treat, and prevent a wide variety of diseases.

We bring together researchers, patients, and the community across the city and surrounding area to strengthen and share research resources through the conduct of Clinical Research Studies.

Mission

We are an organization working to generate knowledge that improves people's quality of life through clinical research.

We work with a strong commitment to raising awareness and educating society about disease prevention and treatment, and about the importance of clinical trials in achieving this.

Vision

To be the best research center and the leading reference in education and awareness about clinical trials in Argentina. To pursue growth based on constant innovation and the highest quality standards in the field. To have the best team, ensuring human quality in patient care and in the internal management of the team.

Values

  • Commitment: To others, to society, and to the environment
  • Passion for what we do
  • Excellence by staying at the forefront of knowledge
  • Transparency: In the processes we work with
  • Teamwork: Thinking of others when acting, and recognizing each person's value and contribution in achieving the Institute's goals

How do we work?

For each new study, intensive recruitment programs are activated through a broad network of referring physicians and our own database exploration. The warm doctor-patient relationship results in individuals motivated to take part in clinical studies. Referring professionals are trained by our team on good clinical practices to optimize referrals and the collection of source documents for patients to be included.

Work methodology

Quality assurance and standardized operating procedures are the method applied throughout the entire research process.

Regulatory submissions and data collection are carried out promptly. All tasks are governed by our continuously updated standard operating procedure manuals.

The Good Clinical Practice guidelines of the International Conference on Harmonisation (GCP/ICH) are the foundation of our work.

Regulatory and ethics committee inspections, as well as sponsor and CRO audits, have consistently received excellent quality results. Monitor feedback is a tool for continuous improvement.

Education

In the diabetes area, we also offer patient education programs, consisting of six classes taught by staff; a cooking workshop, where the center's nutritionists teach patients how to maintain a healthy diet.

Community-open talks on various chronic disease topics are held once a month. For local physicians, we offer case conferences, clinical research courses, and insulin therapy workshops.
